A foretaste of fun?
A foreboding of doom?
Depends on your point of view, I guess.
I happen to like extremes of weather.
Thunder, lightening, blizzards, hail, wind.
The only thing I don't like is a heat wave.
Blistering heat & drenching humidity is the only kind of weather I hate.
Truly hate.
Truly & sincerely hate.
My freckles turn green in the sun & my sweat glands go into hyperdrive.
Truly hate.
So, when I saw these hanging off my roof,
when I saw the cars covered with ice,
I got a little giddy.
We don't get these very often heah in the South.
I love winter.
I love snow even more.
Big piles of it,
falling softly through a silent sky.
I even like driving in snow.
I'm good at it, and I am very careful to avoid people who aren't so good at it.
This ice could be a signal that we will have a cold & snowy winter.
Happiness for me.
Happiness for my heating oil delivery guy.
Dread for practically everyone else around here, except one of my co-workers
(who loves the snow as much as I do).
This ice could just be a fluke, and we're in for our typical mild soggy winter.
At least I had one day of pretty icicles.
Forgive the pictures as they're not the greatest focus.
You try holding the camera (with zoom limitations)
up as high as you can & keep it steady.
Also forgive the peeling paint on the eaves.
It's on my to-do list for this year.
Let me rephrase that.
It's on BS's to-do list for this year.
Heh.
