Reinvention - FAIL!

In the last week, I have had 2 beloved old friends from high school & college days let me know "I'm going to be in town this weekend. Can we get together?"

And, seriously, the first thought that crosses my mind, even before the inevitable
"Is it possible to lose 20 pounds in 2 days?"

Okay, maybe I don't look THAT bad,
but it makes me realize that that part of my reinvention has not gone well at all.
If only they could have seen me a year or 2 ago.

I really don't like myself very much at this moment.
I'll do better.

And I'm going to have fun with my friends.
They still love me anyway.

OMG! How totally depressing. Like gag me with a spoon and tie me to a dead sparrow!
I haven't gained an ounce in 33 years! ;-)

I have maintained my svelte body lo these 40 years since high school and haven't gained an ounce either.
My body is my temple. As a matter of fact, I'm consecrating it with wine as I type.

Some people just let themselves go.
Look on the bright side - maybe they're "plus-sized" or "full-bodied" or "zaftig" or whatever euphemism you want to use.

And I saw you back in ... was it January? and you looked great.

Rosie - you crack me up, as usual!!

Rootie - you know the secret - someone or several someones doing it with you. The only things that finally gave me motivation and success were Tim's BL contest, and doing the BEAST at Gold's. I also had to make myself go, even when I didn't feel like it - now it's much easier!

There's strength in numbers, sugar!

Love ya, G
