Um, it's been awhile, I know. My dog ate my homework. No? Okay, how 'bout this one? I plumb forgot. That's pretty lame, I admit, but there it is.
There really isn't much to report on the training front. It can get pretty boring having to hear all the details about distances, weather, and the like. Did another Great Dismal Swamp Canal Trail ride with my father, and I was slapped with a harsh reality. It is massively humiliating to know that my almost-79 year-old Pop can run circles around me. It made me realize that I haven't been giving my best effort to this, and that runs counter to the purpose of my re-invention.
So, partly because I want to be able to compete on a more even playing field with the old man, and partly because I am a bit ashamed of myself, I will take this more seriously. Plus, my pants aren't loose enough.

Dammit Ticky! Where'd you find that picture of me?
Heh heh heh. Nice to know someone still reads this thing.
Shoot Ticky. I wait and wait and wait for you to post.
I'm pulling for you. Can't wait for you to be able to ride circles around your father.
Marilyn, It's funny how this is just such a small, small world. I actually knew of Ticky's father 24 years ago when I first moved to the Outer Banks. I was pregnant with Daughter Hawthorne and took up an aerobics class down here (That was the rage back in those days. I'd been doing aerobics for several years already.) Anyway, I remember this older gentleman in my class. Sure 'nuff. It was Ticky's Daddy.
Funny how things work out like that.
BTW, Ticky, Your blog post looks positively poetic!
Have you done something new?
